FAQ

Grok Bot questions, answered

Twelve straight answers about Grok Bot, templates, sharing and safety.

Grok Bot basics

What is Grok Bot?

Grok Bot is xAI's always-on agent product, in beta since August 11, 2026. Each Bot has a job description, memory, skills and routines, and works on a cloud computer attached to your account.

Who can use Grok Bot?

At launch the beta was open to SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra and Cursor Teams Premium subscribers on macOS, Windows and iOS. Check xAI for current availability.

What is the difference between a skill and a routine?

A skill is reusable know-how for a task; a routine assigns a workflow to one Bot and says when it runs.

Do Bots on one account share anything?

Yes — they share one cloud computer with the same files, logins and browser sessions. The security boundary is the account, not the Bot.

Templates and sharing

What does a Grok Bot template copy?

Instructions, selected memories, skills, routines and first-party integrations. Never the creator's conversations, signed-in sessions, API keys or private servers.

Are the templates free?

Yes. Every listing is a free public share link. Running a Bot uses your own plan's usage.

Will my copy change if the creator edits theirs?

No — treat your copy as independent and re-add the template if you want a newer version.

How do I list my own bot?

Share it on x.ai, then paste the link on our Submit page. It is reviewed before it goes live.

Safety and this directory

What do the access badges mean?

Green: no accounts mentioned. Amber: connects accounts such as email, calendar, repos or chat. Red: mentions money, publishing or deleting things. They are derived from public descriptions — always check the live bot on x.ai.

How do you check links?

We confirm each link uses the official x.ai/bot format and loads successfully. Dead links are retired from the catalog.

Where does the catalog come from?

Open community catalogs on GitHub (CC0 and CC BY 4.0, with attribution on every listing) plus creator submissions.

Are you affiliated with xAI?

No. This is an independent directory.
